The production process of metal chemical photo etching
Metal chemical photo etching is widely used for metal business cards, metal bookmarks and other precision metal parts,
but do you know how it works?
Its production processes are as below:
but do you know how it works?
Its production processes are as below:
1.Cleaning
The sheet of stainless steel, aluminum or other metals to be etched is chemically cleaned to ensure that there is no any potential contaminants
Note: It is to prevent photoresist (refer to Step2) falling off the sheet to be etched
2.Photoresist Coating
Each sheet is coated with a film of photoresist that is resistant to the chemical etchant
3.Exposure
The pattern to be etched is covered photoresist covered sheet, which is then exposed to UV light. The area that is not covered by the etched
pattern is activated by the UV light and this will prevent the acid etching the material in this area

4.Development
The sheet is put through a development stage where the unexposed photoresist is removed, leaving uncovered areas which will be etched by the acid
5.Etching
Developed material goes through the etching process where it is sprayed with the chemical etchant to etch the required pattern into the metal
6.Stripping&Cleaning
The material is cleaned to remove the remaining photoresist and etchant.
